The Tennis Podcast Launches 3rd Annual Kickstarter To Crowdfund Production In 2019
The Tennis Podcast, presented by broadcasters Catherine Whitaker and David Law, has launched its third annual Kickstarter campaign to crowdfund production in 2019.
After surpassing funding targets in both 2017 and 2018, and over-delivering in terms of output in both years (106 podcasts in 2017 and 115 in 2018), The Tennis Podcast is seeking to generate enough income to add resources to its production operation, including hiring long-time intern Matt Roberts (known to listeners as ‘Student Matt’, and more recently ‘Grad Matt’) on a full-time basis.

The Tennis Podcast features conversation about professional tennis, with special guests and big-name interviews. Over the past year, the show has been produced weekly every Monday, and is the only tennis podcast to offer daily editions at the Grand Slam events – the Australian, French and US Opens and Wimbledon. In 2018, nightly episodes were also produced at the ATP Finals, the Fever-Tree Championships at The Queen’s Club, and the Davis Cup final.
The Tennis Podcast began production in 2012 and has been downloaded more than 6 million times since then. More than 15,000 people now listen to every episode, the vast majority on smartphones. The podcast is partnered with Telegraph Sport, and was sponsored in 2018 by Amazon Prime Video and La Manga Club.
