As fairy tales go Emma Raducanu’s US Open story is about as magical as you could get. The British 18 year old, fresh from her A Level results only a few weeks ago entered US Open Qualifiers for a place in the Ladies singles main draw. Following three straight sets victories she gained a place in the main draw perhaps backing up her fourth-round appearance earlier in the summer at Wimbledon.
Emma is sponsored by Nike and wears the Nike Court gear. You can take a look at Emma’s gear below. She wears the Nike Court Dri FIT Slam Womens Tennis Skirt in Blue and matching Nike Court Dri Fit Slam Sleeveless. She wears the Nike React Vapor NXT Tennis shoes in White and green. You can take a look at the rest of the Nike Fall US Open Collection here. Emma has already stated that she is not willing to change outfits as she is superstitious.
As a qualifier she had to enter a previous tournament to gain a place in the main draw at Flushing Meadows New York. 6 matches later, 12 sets later she is now in the final of the US Open. She has won 9 grand slam singles matches at the same grand slam. She is the only qualifier ever to make it to a grand slam final. This is an incredible achievement especially given that no one else in the history of the game has achieved such a feat.

In each match Raducanu has played she has played more experienced opponents and was certainly been the underdog in every round. It has been a role that she has relished. Playing aggressively with freedom which has been great to see. She has thrilled the crowds at Flushing and despite having never played in the huge Arthur Ashe stadium court performed amazingly.
