Chris Scorah has been a big tennis fan all his life! He learned his craft at Lurgan Tennis Club, however it wasn’t until his arrival at Queens’ Tennis Club did he really begin to become involved in the game. It was at the Boatclub one wet Wednesday afternoon that he met fellow aficionado Peter Fryer and the rest they say is history. Chris went on to captain the Men’s Team at QUB and hosted the hugely successful Irish Tennis Intervarsity in 2009. On the pro tour, he has a particular soft spot for Andy Murray, but he also loves Rafa Nadal too! Chris is the brains behind the LoveTennisBlog.
Rebecca McConnell was a late bloomer only getting into tennis in her teenage years. It wasn’t until she went to Queen’s University that she started playing regularly every Wednesday afternoon, in rain, hail, the odd sunshine and even once in the snow! Rebecca admits she doesn’t get to play as much tennis now as she’d like to but plays at local courts in sunny County Down when she gets the time. A frequent visitor to the All England Club, Rebecca hopes to one year complete her own ‘Grand Slam’ and visit each major, as soon as she has saved up a small fortune for the air fares. Federer, Nadal and Clijsters are her current favourite tennis pro’s and she has a soft spot for the cheeky impersonations of Novak Djokovic (who doesn’t).
